A UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning has been established at Queen’s University for a three year period beginning in 2007.

This is a unique project that promotes the priorities of UNESCO in relation to arts education and creativity.  With this focus, the Chair will foster interdisciplinary, inter-university sharing and transferring of knowledge among northern and southern hemisphere countries in a spirit of solidarity, through democratic collaboration, teacher education, research and e-learning.  Quality of education will be enhanced from the perspective of content and curriculum enrichment. The Chair will enable the creation of new learning tools and educational opportunities through distance learning that is not generally available now.

The main priority will be to encourage and strengthen international linkages and capacity building through the three projects that will provide a central focus for the 3-year period.  The projects are:
