Gifts for a Culture of Peace 2009
The UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning partnered with the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University in sponsoring Gifts for a Culture of Peace 2009a conference in support of UNESCO’s International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World Gifts for a Culture of Peace 2009 offered an opportunity to celebrate, share, value and present gifts which promote a culture of peace.
The event took place in Kingston the 18th and 19th of June 2009. The gifts selected for the conference will be sent to UNESCO and will be accessible on the web site.
The Faculty of Education was the lead Faculty for the university with a special interest in the educational theme of the conference. Larry O’Farrell, holder of the UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning was co-chair of the educational steering committee, together with Dr. Rosa Bruno-Jofré, Dean of the Faculty of Education.
