The Tanzania Schools Project in the News: "Teacher reaches new heights in fundraiser"

The Tanzania Schools Project provides a professional development opportunity for B.Ed. candidates as they assist teachers and students in Butiama, Tanzania. Since 2007, teams of B.Ed. candidates have also raised money for academic scholarships, uniforms and school supplies for students. This Project is the focus of Tori Stafford's article "Teacher Tanzania_Schools_Project.jpgreaches new heights in fundraiser" in the Kingston Whig Standard on August 16th, 2011.

Volunteer Kathleen Macpherson, a graduate of the Faculty of Education who completed her Alternative Practicum in Tanzania in 2008, recently trekked to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in support of the Project.
