Dr. Liying Cheng, a director of the Assessment and Evaluation Group, is in the news this week because her new study indicates that internationally educated professionals find professional licensing and certification in English in Ontario to be challenging to navigate.
The winner of the first Faculty of Education Photo of the Month Contest was Jeff Woodrow, current teacher candidate in the Technological Education Program. The runners up were Paul Vernon, current teacher candidate in the Artist in the Community Program and Megan Bond, current student in the Master of Education Program.
There is a new entrance award for the Consecutive Education Bachelor of Education program. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence, the J. Bolton and Kathleen Slack Scholarship is valued at approximately $2500.
