Faculty of Education, Queen’s University, introduces Second Life® to the classroom this year. Second Life® is a 3D virtual world founded in 1999 by Philip Rosedale at Linden Labs.
On Feb. 23rd, 2009 the Faculty of Education held a quiet, but formal, ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its Island in Second Life. Continuing Teacher Education hosts some parts of its on-line classes in Second Life, while uses in other areas of the Faculty are in the development stages.
